Before you do your tandem skydive you will receive a short briefing about the equipment, exiting the aircraft, freefall and landing. You will be fitted with a fully adjustable harness which securely attaches you to the instructor once you are seated on the aircraft.
You will jump from between 10,000 and 13,500 feet, and be in freefall for between 30 and 45 seconds, reaching speeds of around 120 mph. The parachute will be opened at 5,000 feet. You parachute is equipped with dual controls and you can help steer if you like. It takes apporximately 5 minutes for the canopy to descend to the landing area.
If you wish, you can have a professional cameraman follow you as you board the aircraft, through exit and freefall, and finally as you land, talking both pictures and video. You can see a sample of this on the Gallery and Videos page. Costs varies between £80 and £150 and can be arranged on the day.
After your jump, you will be presented with a certificate to prove that you did the jump!
